Summer Fete: Thank you to everyone who came to make the Glebe Summer Fayre such a successful one. I don’t yet have the figures for how much was raised but seeing so many people there and being so lucky with the weather, I’m sure we’ve raised a large amount. I will update you with the amount once I have it. Don’t forget the next FOG meeting is on Tuesday 26th June at 7pm in the school hall. Everyone welcome.
Open Gardens: As part of Ickenham Festival, Glebe took part in the Open Gardens event and welcomed lots of people to see our lovely outdoor space and have a look at the different gardens we have - the wildlife and sensory gardens and the allotment area. The Glebe Gardeners were wonderful and rightly proud hosts. All the visitors commented on how beautifully behaved, polite and knowledgeable they were. We provided tea and biscuits and also sold some of our bookmarks which are made from colour photographs of the plants we've grown. We raised £60 which will go towards a strimmer that we desperately need. Thank you to everyone who came and showed their support.
Festival Football: A huge well done to the girls and boys football teams who beat both Breakspear teams at the Ickenham Festival football matches on Tuesday evening. The boys won the return leg 1-0 following a defeat at the fete on Saturday and the girls continued their winning streak with another comprehensive win of 7-0 following on from their 10-0 win at the fete. We are really proud of you all. The Glebe dads narrowly missed out on a win on Tuesday so you’d better get into training for next year, fellas!
The Choir at St Giles: The Glebe Choir performed at St Giles Church on Tuesday as part of the Festival celebrations. The event was very well attended and unfortunately they experienced some technical issues and had to sing most of their songs a cappella. The Glebe nerve held and they sang wonderfully.
