Year 4 Football Team – This week was a historic week for Glebe in that for the first time ever, Glebe put forward a squad of Year 4 pupils in a football match. We played Coteford Junior who put forward a Year 5 team against our Year 4 boys. The experience and maturity of the Coteford team shone through though and we lost 6-2. However, it is all experience and I know that although the boys were disappointed, they have learned so much from the experience and will come out stronger for the next match. Glebe is very proud of you all. Well done to Rio , who scored both Glebe goals on the evening. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Dwyer who gave the team the opportunity to play. I think it is important to remember that all of our team coaches are full time members of staff who give their time freely and without this dedication, we would not be able to offer the children these opportunities and experiences for free.
Girls Football - The girls' football team were also in action this week in a friendly tournament. Points were not awarded for winning teams as in normal tournaments, this was a gathering for the girls to experience match situations and to play as many matches as possible during the time available. This was a great opportunity and the girls thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
On Monday, the Y5 girls have been selected to represent Hillingdon in a football tournament at Brunel University - good luck girls!
