Our teachers this year are: Miss Wands (RW), Mrs Bhardwaj (RB) and Miss Bird (RLB which is covered by Miss Griffiths until the October half-term). Each class is supported by a dedicated nursery nurse. Mrs Kesterlain supports RW, Miss Walters is in RB and Miss McFadden is in RLB. Some children receive 1:1 support. The adults supporting children on a 1:1 basis are: Mrs Cornish/Mrs Sumrakova (RLB), Mrs Khan (RB) and Mrs Verity (RW.)
Each teacher receives half a day PPA time to allow for them to plan, prepare and assess. The information below indicates when and who will cover this time:
RW - Mrs Message (Tuesday afternoon)
RB - Mrs Smith (Thursday afternoon)
RLB - Mrs Lenk (Monday afternoon). After the October half- term, it will be covered by Miss Griffiths (Thursday all day).

The curriculum maps contain the different foci for each area as well as the specific vocabulary for the topic.
Throughout the year we will be introducing specific vocabulary for maths and literacy. Please see the documents below for the vocabulary covered.

His range of subjects is huge and there is always some song that links to the learning in Reception. Have a look at his page by following the link (please be aware that the ads/content on youtube can be unpredictable and therefor will need to be monitored by an adult)
A great range of story videos that cover all aspects of PSHE and social Skills can be found by following this link - Enjoy the tales of Howard B Wigglebottom as he learns some life lessons!
In the summer term, we usually go to the Iver nature centre to explore the different eco-systems, habitats and life cycles. We also explore the local area.
From 2021 we are following the Little Wandle phonics scheme in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. This scheme has been accredited by the DFE.
The sounds the children are taught are introduced in a specific order. The progression has been organised so that children are taught from the simple to more complex GPCs, as well as taking into account the frequency of their occurrence in the most commonly encountered words. The document also shows when tricky words are introduced. Tricky words are words that are not phonetically decodable.
Reception Baseline Assessment (RBA):
The children will be sitting the RBA within the first 6 weeks of autumn term. For more information please see the parent guide produced by the DFE.
